The Hidden Ingredients: Uncovering the truth about what’s in our food, part one. What’s really in our food? Do we know? In the next few months, I will investigate, inform, and educate you about what’s in our food. Why do we have a large number of obese children and adults in our country? Is the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) really on our side and informing us, or is it a bunch of BS? I remember when I was a kid living on a farm. We grew all the vegetables we ate and had fresh meat from the livestock. We had Chickens, Rabbits, Beef Steers, And Pigs. My father always said we don’t name or get attached to them because they would be in our freezer by fall. We don’t make pets out of farm food. Why did the fresh vegetables and fresh meat taste so different than buying from a grocery store? Is it what they put into our foods to preserve them to stay fresh and look good for the consumer?
Is it all about the money? As big corporations make billions, cash comes first, and your health comes second. Your health may be so low on the totem poll that the giant corporation’s bottom line is profits. Don’t get me wrong. Free enterprise is the way of life. But at what cost? There are a lot of questions to get answers to. I can find some answers to these questions or have more questions than answers. This will be a big task, but I’m up to it. After digging into this, I might or might not find something alarming. But that is what I’m trying to accomplish: to inform and educate everyone.
