Six Years With BOROUX: The Water Filter That’s Become Part of Our Kitchen
An honest look at a product I actually use—and a company whose family I’ve known for years.

Some products you come across because somebody emails you and says, “Hey, you should check this out.”
And then there are products where the story is a little more personal.
BOROUX is one of those for me.
Long before Foodie Mob, I worked for the family behind BOROUX. So I’ve known the people behind the company for years.
That makes this one different.
I’m not writing about a product I discovered yesterday and decided to promote because it has an affiliate program.
I’ve had a BOROUX Legacy Water Filter System in my home for six years.
And after six years, I have a pretty good idea of what I like about it.
It Started With the Water—and Then I Noticed the Coffee
Living here in Florida, I’ve always paid attention to the water.
Before we had the BOROUX, I noticed something when I made coffee.
It just didn’t taste as good as it should.
Same coffee. Same coffee maker. But something about it wasn’t right.
Once I started using filtered water from the BOROUX, I noticed a difference.
What a difference.
The water tastes really good on its own, but it tastes even better in my coffee.
That was one of those little everyday discoveries that made me realize how much the water you’re using can affect something as simple as your morning cup of coffee.
And six years later, we’re still using it.
It’s Part of Our Everyday Kitchen
The BOROUX doesn’t sit in the corner collecting dust.
We use it.
We fill the top with water until the filters are covered, and then the water filters down into the three-gallon bottom chamber.
It’s simple.
We fill it, let it do its thing, and we’ve got filtered water ready to use.
I use the water for cooking, too.
And we give it to our dogs.
So it’s become part of our normal routine at home—not just something we pull out once in a while.

The Filters Are the Heart of the System
The filter is what really matters in a water filtration system.
My BOROUX Legacy uses BOROUX Foundation Filters, and that’s where the filtration happens.
BOROUX says its Foundation Filters used in the Legacy have been independently tested, including testing to NSF/ANSI 42 and 401 standards. BOROUX’s published performance data specifically reports a 98.9% average reduction for the particulate and microplastic test challenges listed on its performance sheet. Those results come from laboratory testing under specified conditions, and actual performance can vary depending on source water and usage.
I also like that you don’t have to change filters constantly.
BOROUX currently lists the two-filter Legacy configuration with filters lasting up to 12 months, while the four-filter configuration lasts up to 24 months. Actual filter life depends on the water being filtered and how much you use it.
That matters to me because we use our BOROUX every day.
We drink the water, make coffee with it, cook with it, and give it to our dogs.
After six years, the filters have simply become part of the routine.
Fill it. Let gravity do the work. Change the filters when it’s time. Keep going.
That’s the kind of simplicity I like.

And Yes, My Wife Likes It Too 😂
I have the white BOROUX Legacy, and honestly, I like the way it looks in our kitchen.
BOROUX offers different colors, and the white one matches ours perfectly.
And my wife loves the fact that it’s white.
That’s worth mentioning because this is something that’s sitting right there in the kitchen. We don’t hide it in a cabinet.
It actually looks like it belongs there.
Sometimes the little things matter.
Six Years Later, It’s Still Going Strong
One of the biggest things I can say about my BOROUX is that it’s been reliable.
I’ve had it for six years.
That’s a long time to use something every day, and if I didn’t like it, believe me, I wouldn’t still have it.
It’s become one of those things that we don’t really think about anymore.
We just use it.
And I think that’s probably one of the best compliments I can give a product.

Florida Has Another Reason I Like Having It
Living in Florida also means living with hurricane season.
When a storm is coming, we prepare.
We keep water in jugs and bottled water on hand in case the water supply is disrupted.
But having the BOROUX gives us another option.
It’s already sitting in our kitchen.
We know how to use it.
And when you’re preparing for a hurricane, having another way to have filtered water available is something that gives me a little extra peace of mind.
It’s not why I originally bought the BOROUX.
But it’s definitely something I’ve come to appreciate.
The Foodie Mob Connection
Here’s why I wanted to write about BOROUX in the first place.
I’ve known the family behind the company for years. I actually worked for them before Foodie Mob existed.
I’ve watched the company grow, and I know the story behind the people who started it.
But I also don’t want to recommend something simply because I know the owners.
I use the product myself.
That’s the difference.
I’ve had mine for six years. I use it for drinking water, coffee, cooking, and even for our dogs.
So when I became a BOROUX affiliate through Foodie Mob, it felt like a natural fit.
I’m not saying you need to buy one.
I’m simply telling you why we have one in our home and why we keep using it.
Foodie Mob Quick Take
Six years of use tells me more than a sales pitch ever could.
The BOROUX Legacy has become part of our everyday kitchen routine.
I like the taste of the water. I noticed the difference in my coffee. It’s simple to use, reliable for us, and the white version fits right into our kitchen.
The filters are an important part of the system, and BOROUX provides published testing and filter-life information for the Legacy.
And when hurricane season rolls around, I’m glad we have it.
That’s my experience.

And every once in a while, something outside the restaurant world comes along that I can genuinely tell you about from my own kitchen.
BOROUX is one of those things.
Keep It Local. Keep It Mob.
