French Onion Dip

Ingredients

Ingredients French Onion Dip

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 1/2 cups diced onion. ( I like to use a combination of red onion and sweet Vidalila onion, but any onions will work)
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt.
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 ounces cream sheese
  • 1/4 cup Mayo
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

Prepare French Onion Dip

  1. In a saute’ pan melt butte on medium heat
  2. Add onions, salt,pepper and onion powder cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Lower burner to medium low heat and cook for 25-25 minutes until the onions are well caramelized.
  4. Then cool completely.
  5. While onions are cooling combine the remaining ingredients.
  6. Add the cooled onions to creamed mixture and refrigerate for at least an hour. Grab some chips,pretzels or a bunch of veggies and enjoy!!
