What to Order at Herb & Oven in Tarpon Springs
Looking at the Menu?
If you’re planning a dinner at Herb & Oven in Tarpon Springs and wondering what to order, we’ve got you covered.
When my wife and I visited Herb & Oven, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
I knew it was Italian. I knew Chef Andonia had a fusion approach to her food. Once we sat down, it didn’t take long to realize this wasn’t your typical restaurant experience.
The kitchen was right there.
Chef Andonia was right there.
And before long, we were eating, talking, laughing, and paying attention to what was happening around us.
That’s part of what made our dinner at Herb & Oven memorable.
So let’s talk about what we ordered—and what I’d tell you to try if you were sitting at our table.
🦑 Foodie Mob’s Top Appetizer
Fried Calamari

We started with the fried calamari.
Now, calamari can go one of two ways.
It can be crispy and tender, the way you want it.
Or it can come out overcooked and chewy, and you’re sitting there wondering why you ordered it.
Thankfully, Herb & Oven got this one right.
The calamari was crispy on the outside and tender inside, but what really caught my attention was the seasoning.
There was more going on than just fried calamari.
Then came the marinara.
That sauce had plenty of flavor and worked really well with the calamari.
It was a good start to the meal.
And sometimes that’s all you need from an appetizer—something that makes you think, Okay, this is going to be good.
Foodie Mob Tip: If you’re starting with an appetizer, the fried calamari is a good place to begin.
🍝 Foodie Mob’s Top Entrée
Pasta Bolognese

Then I got to my entrée.
Pasta Bolognese.
I like a good Bolognese, and this one gave me plenty to like.
The dish came with slow-simmered beef, pork, and pancetta ragu over pasta, topped with shaved Parmigiano Reggiano.
The pasta had just the right bite.
The beef and pork were tender and full of flavor, and the sauce brought everything together.
Then you get that shaved Parmesan on top.
That sharp, savory flavor cuts through the richness of the meat and sauce and adds another layer.
And that’s what I liked about it.
Nothing was fighting for attention.
Everything just worked together.
You know those meals where you take a few bites, and you’re already thinking about whether you’d order the same thing again?
Yeah.
I’d order this one again.
Foodie Mob Tip: If you’re a pasta person, the Bolognese is definitely worth considering. It’s hearty, flavorful, and the pasta was cooked exactly the way I like it.
🍗 Best Classic Choice
Chicken Parmesan

My wife went with the Chicken Parmesan.
And if you’ve been following Foodie Mob for a while, you know my wife has her favorites.
So when she likes something, I pay attention.
I tried some of the Chicken Parmesan myself, and I understood why she enjoyed it.
The chicken was tender, the angel hair pasta was cooked al dente, and the marinara had a rich tomato flavor that worked really well with everything on the plate.
But I noticed something different about the chicken.
Herb & Oven uses a thinner chicken cutlet rather than a traditional thick chicken breast.
I actually liked that.
The thinner cutlet worked nicely with the pasta, marinara, and melted cheese instead of feeling like you were eating a big piece of chicken with everything else sitting beside it.
My wife also liked how the angel hair looked on the plate.
That’s something I notice about her.
She’ll tell you what tastes good, but she’ll also notice how it looks.
That’s marriage. 😂
Foodie Mob Tip: If Chicken Parmesan is your go-to, this is a version worth trying—especially if you like a thinner cutlet and angel hair pasta.
🍰 Foodie Mob’s Must-Try Dessert
House-Made Cheesecake with Berry Sauce

Now we need to talk about dessert.
Because I have a rule.
If there’s cheesecake on the menu, I’m probably ordering it.
I love cheesecake, and I can’t pass it up without a slice. 😂
So naturally, I ordered the house-made cheesecake with berry sauce.
And I’m glad I did.
The cheesecake had that rich, creamy texture you want, but the berry sauce was what really made it stand out.
That sweet berry flavor with the cheesecake worked beautifully together.
And then my wife did what wives do.
She wanted a taste.
I ordered the cheesecake for myself, but apparently that didn’t mean I was going to eat the whole thing myself.
She snuck a bite.
And honestly?
I can’t blame her.
It was good.
Foodie Mob Tip: Save room for dessert. If you love cheesecake as I do, don’t leave without trying the house-made cheesecake with berry sauce.
👩🍳 It’s More Than Just the Food
Here’s something you should know about Herb & Oven.
The food is only part of the experience.
The kitchen is open, so you can actually watch Chef Andonia working while you’re sitting at your table.
And Chef Andonia isn’t the kind of chef who disappears into the kitchen and never comes back out.
She’s part of the restaurant.
At one point, she came out and started talking with my wife and me.
She had actually noticed me from the kitchen.
Which isn’t surprising.
When I’m reviewing a restaurant, I’m always looking around.
I’m watching the room.
I’m watching the staff.
I’m watching what’s happening in the kitchen.
I’m trying to take everything in.
Apparently, Chef Andonia noticed.
And she jokingly told me I should probably pay more attention to my date. 😂
We laughed.
And that little moment told me something about Herb & Oven.
It felt personal.
It didn’t feel like we were just another table.
Then another moment really caught my attention.
Chef Andonia came out and got everyone’s attention.
I expected her to say something about the restaurant or the food.
Instead, she took the opportunity to recognize and praise her staff.
That stuck with me.
They’re the people who help the restaurant run.
And Chef Andonia made sure everyone in the room knew she appreciated them.
That’s the kind of thing you remember.

Final Thoughts
Our dinner at Herb & Oven was really good.
But that’s not the whole story.
The calamari was a great way to start.
I’d order the Bolognese again.
My wife really enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan.
And then there was the cheesecake.
You already know how I feel about cheesecake. 😂
But what I remember most about Herb & Oven isn’t just what was on our plates.
It’s watching Chef Andonia work.
It’s her coming over to our table and joking with us.
It’s seeing her stop what she was doing to recognize her staff.
It’s that feeling that the kitchen wasn’t hidden away from the restaurant.
It was part of the experience.
And that’s what made Herb & Oven feel different.
So if you find yourself sitting at Herb & Oven wondering what to order, these are the dishes I’d tell you about if you were sitting at my table.
And yes…
I’d save room for that cheesecake.
