What to Order at DayBreak Cafe in Tarpon Springs
Looking at the Menu?
If you’re planning a visit to DayBreak Cafe in Tarpon Springs and wondering what to order, we’ve got you covered.
I’ve been to DayBreak for breakfast plenty of times, so when my wife and I stopped in for lunch, I already knew the place could handle breakfast.
What I didn’t know was how much I’d enjoy lunch.
And that’s what makes DayBreak interesting. It’s easy to think of it as just a breakfast spot, but there’s more to it than eggs and pancakes.
So let’s talk about what we ordered—and what I think you should order when you go.
🍝 Foodie Mob’s Top Entrée

Frutti di Mare Pasta
I wasn’t planning on ordering pasta.
Then I saw the Frutti di Mare Pasta listed as the special.
Sometimes a special catches your attention, and sometimes you look at it and think, Yep. That’s what I’m having.
This was one of those times.
The dish came with mussels, shrimp, and sea scallops, with wine, garlic, and tomato sauce over pasta.
And it delivered.
The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the seafood was fresh throughout the dish. The mussels were probably my favorite part. They had great flavor and worked beautifully with the sauce.
Then there were the scallops.
A good scallop doesn’t need much help. When they’re fresh and cooked right, you know it immediately.
These were.
The tomato sauce brought everything together without taking over the seafood.
By the end of the meal, I was thinking something I probably should have realized a long time ago:
DayBreak isn’t just a breakfast spot.
Foodie Mob Tip: If the Frutti di Mare Pasta is on the specials board, ask about it. If you’re a seafood lover, I’d order this again.
🥪 Best Classic Choice

BLT on Toasted Sourdough
My wife went with the BLT on toasted sourdough.
And sometimes you don’t need to overthink lunch.
You just need a good BLT.
The sourdough was toasted just right, the bacon was nicely crisp, and everything worked together the way a BLT should.
But then we got to the side.
Homemade potato salad.
Now, potato salad isn’t usually the thing you remember about a BLT.
This one was.
It had great flavor and went perfectly with the sandwich.
It’s a good reminder that sometimes the little things make a meal better.
Foodie Mob Tip: If you’re looking for a classic lunch, the BLT is a solid choice. And don’t skip the potato salad.
🥔 Don’t Skip the Side
Homemade Potato Salad
I’m giving the potato salad its own section because it earned it.
There’s something about a homemade side that just feels different.
You can tell when somebody actually put some thought into it instead of treating it like something that just needs to fill the empty space on the plate.
That’s how I felt about the potato salad at DayBreak.
It was flavorful, homemade, and a perfect match for the BLT.
Nothing fancy.
Just good food.
And sometimes that’s exactly what you’re looking for.
Foodie Mob Tip: If homemade potato salad is available, try it. It’s worth more than just a passing bite.
🍓 Foodie Mob’s Must-Try

Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake
Then came the milkshake.
This is where things got interesting.
I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake, and I knew it would be good.
I just wasn’t prepared for what showed up.
The milkshake itself was thick, creamy, and full of strawberry flavor.
But sitting on top was something that made me stop for a second.
A whole slice of cheesecake.
Yes.
A whole slice.
With strawberries, whipped cream, and strawberry drizzle.
At that point, this wasn’t just a milkshake.
This was dessert.
And honestly, it was one of the most memorable parts of the entire meal.
It’s the kind of thing that makes you look at your wife and say, “Okay, we definitely need to tell people about this.”
So here I am.
Telling you about it.
Foodie Mob Tip: Save room for this one. Seriously.
🥤 Best Classic Shake
Vanilla Milkshake
My wife ordered the vanilla milkshake with her BLT.
And while it didn’t arrive with an entire slice of cheesecake on top, it didn’t need to.
Sometimes you just want a classic vanilla milkshake.
Cold. Creamy. Simple.
She enjoyed it, and if you’re not looking to turn your dessert into a full-blown event, this is a good choice.
Foodie Mob Tip: If you’re a vanilla milkshake person, stick with the classic. There’s nothing wrong with keeping it simple.

Final Thoughts
What started as a simple lunch at a place I’ve always associated with breakfast turned into a pretty good reminder that DayBreak Cafe is more than just a breakfast spot.
The Frutti di Mare Pasta surprised me.
The BLT and homemade potato salad showed that sometimes simple food is all you need.
And then there was that milkshake.
That milkshake.
If you’re heading to DayBreak Cafe for the first time, I’d absolutely ask about the Frutti di Mare Pasta if it’s available.
But if you ask me what you shouldn’t leave without trying?
The Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake.
That’s my Foodie Mob pick.
Because sometimes the best part of a meal isn’t what you planned on ordering.

“Now that’s worth telling people about.”
