What to Order at Tarpon Turtle in Tarpon Springs
Looking at the Menu?
If you’re planning a visit to Tarpon Turtle and wondering what to order, we’ve got you covered. Between our most recent review visit and previous visits, we’ve tried several menu items, giving us a good feel for what this waterfront favorite has to offer.
Here are the dishes we’d recommend based on our firsthand experiences.
🥇 Foodie Mob’s Top Pick

Mahi-Mahi Reuben
If you’re looking for something different, the Mahi-Mahi Reuben is our top recommendation.
Blackened fresh mahi is layered with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing on toasted marbled rye, served with a side of fries.
It may sound like an unusual combination, but it comes together surprisingly well.
The mahi was fresh, flaky, and moist, while the blackening seasoning added plenty of flavor without overpowering the fish. The sauerkraut brought a bright, tangy bite, the Swiss cheese balanced everything nicely, and the Thousand Island dressing tied the sandwich together without making it feel heavy.
The toasted marbled rye deserves credit, too. It held everything together from the first bite to the last without becoming soggy.
Foodie Mob Tip: If you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone, this is one of the most memorable sandwiches on the menu.
Would we order it again? Absolutely.
🍔 Best Classic Choice

Steak Burger
Not everyone wants to experiment, and that’s perfectly fine.
The Steak Burger is a dependable choice for anyone craving a classic burger done well.
Cooked properly and served juicy, it delivers exactly what you’d expect from a quality steakhouse-style burger. It doesn’t rely on fancy toppings or gimmicks—it simply gets the basics right.
The fries were crispy, not greasy, and complemented the meal perfectly.
Foodie Mob Tip: If it’s your first visit and you want a safe, satisfying choice, this burger won’t disappoint.
🐊 Appetizer We Recommend
Gator Bites
We’ve also enjoyed the Gator Bites on a previous visit, and they’re an appetizer we’d gladly order again.
Tender on the inside with a crispy coating, they’re a fun way to start your meal—especially if you’re introducing someone to Florida cuisine for the first time.
If you’ve never tried alligator before, Tarpon Turtle is a great place to give it a shot.
🥒 Another Great Starter
Fried Pickles
Another appetizer we’ve enjoyed on a previous visit is the Fried Pickles.
Served hot and crispy, they’re perfect for sharing around the table. The crunchy coating and tangy pickle make them an easy crowd-pleaser before the main course arrives.
If your table likes appetizers to share, these are a solid choice.
